I was becoming very frustrated with the time it was taking me with prep, had enough of sniffing paint stripper, my heat gun was great for some applications. Some one suggested the Metabo machine.Thank god for you tube because from the reviews this other machine called the paint shaver pro came through as the one to buy.Rang matt and received it 2 days later. Unfortunately with weather i have only used it once but it's going to be great, just need to let the machine do the work for me.I could not believe how heavy my vacuum cleaner was,the bag was full of fine shavings, it works.

What a great tool, strips paint off weather board at about 1m per 20 seconds. Take the time to get use to how the tool works and your results will be better.

I hope you are well just thought I would give you an update on how the paint Shave pro went on that job in Remura you had a look at and gave me a demonstration,
It worked amazingly well and was reasonably tidy with the vacuum system attached I was doing windows on that very first job with extremely good results as well as the weatherboards, I have also recently used it on another job walls and windows and it worked just as good there, I am telling everybody that I meet about how good the machine is and buy one , at the master painters meeting we recommended it be put forward to tool of the year
I am happy for you to use this email as a recommendation or people can also ring me I do not mind,

Paint Shaver Pro 2012 – This is a great tool after you’ve got the hang of it and it’s not for the absent minded as it has exposed blades in two surfaces. Key learning so far includes – 1. Let the tool to the work and avoid applying too much pressure on the weather boards with the tool unless you want nice deep circular indentations to fill later, 2. Slower is better to avoid excessive amounts of sanding and refinishing later, 3. So much faster than a heat gun for large areas, although the heat gun is still great for getting in to the tight spaces. All things considered a great piece of kit.

I bought this to remove lead based paint from my villa, what was taking me forever with a heat gun became incredibly easy with the paintshaver, I have removed all the paint off the weatherboards and repainted with a stunning result for a house that was in such disrepair, if I could post photos I would
